Tsitsi holds various professional qualifications including an LLM, LLBS (Hons) (UZ), Certification in Data Protection (IGS, HIT), Intellectual Property Law (UNISA), Telecommunication Policy, law and Practice (Wits & Stockholm Universities) and International Trade Law, (UIES), Italy.

Ms. Mariwo is the first Director responsible for data protection in Zimbabwe working under the Designated Data Protection Authority – POTRAZ. She spearheaded the establishment of a functional office, development of regulations to operationalize the Act and roll-out of the provisions of the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07] from 2023.  Under her leadership, the Data Protection Authority crafted and implemented the first home grown Data Protection Officer Training Certification Course in sub-Saharan Africa. Her dedication to data protection issues has positioned the country on the regional and international map with recognition as members of the Network of African Data Protection Authorities (NADPA) and Global Privacy Assembly (GPA), thereby influencing regional and global policy on data protection issues. In this role, she has led negotiations for Zimbabwe on the new UN Convention on Cyber Crime adopted in December 2024.

Ms. Mariwo is a seasoned trainer who holds other roles as ILO facilitator on International Labor Standards for Anglophone speaking countries and lecturer at the Southern and Eastern Africa Regional Centre for Women’s Law. She is a member of the Law Society of Zimbabwe and Independent Non-Executive Director for Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe Red Sphere Finance wherein she Chairs the Credit Committee and Eaglesvale School Management Board wherein she holds the position of Vice Chairperson. Her leadership role transcends to her community wherein she engages in various community related activities under the Makosa Development Agenda mentoring young people and supporting community development projects. Prior to her appointment as Director Data Protection, Tsitsi was the Head of Legal Services at POTRAZ.
