Raheemah Olawuyi is a final year law student of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State. With a strong passion for the intersection of technology, policy, and law, Raheemah is particularly interested in Privacy, Data Protection, Internet Governance, Emerging Technology, Intellectual Property and AI Governance. Her passion for data protection and privacy led her to establish Nigeria’s first-ever tertiary institution club dedicated to creating a platform for awareness, education, advocacy and the creation of opportunities for youths in the field. She is a fellow of the Nigerian School of Internet Governance as well as the Pan African Youth Ambassadors for Internet Governance. Recognized for her skills and passion, she has also been selected to participate in several prestigious training programs at reputable organizations like the Internet Society, Harvard and the European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity. She has also been nominated to be a recipient of the Rising Star Award at PrivCon Nigeria 2024.
Currently, she works as a researcher, focusing on data protection and privacy and their real-world applications, as well as the creation of policies for AI Governance. She remains deeply passionate about policy creation in these fields and is constantly seeking opportunities to learn, contribute, and apply her knowledge and skills in meaningful ways. She aims to play a pivotal role in providing research and helping shape policies that ensure responsible governance of technologies in our increasingly digital world.
