Ousmane THIONGANE, who chairs the Senegal Personal Data Protection Commission (CDP), is a lawyer, journalist, expert in communication and digital transformation.

Mr. THIONGANE, remarkable identity of Senegal’s digital ecosystem for nearly a decade, is also recognized for his numerous contributions in the digital field.

Before his appointment as head of the CDP, in March 2024, he was Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal, where he designed and led the digital strategy of the Head of State and that of the Presidency.

Member of the Grand Prize of the President of the Republic of Senegal for digital innovation”, Ousmane THIONGANE is the author of the book “The promises of digital technology. Senegal and Africa connect”. He is co-author of another book and several other contributions in the digital field.
