I am the Director of International Cooperation at the Somalia Data Protection Authority (SDPA), where I have been part of the institution since its inception. I have played a key role in building its foundation, establishing its structure, shaping its strategic direction and contributing to its overall development. My work has included research initiatives, conducting stakeholders mapping and developing strategies to foster data protection and privacy awareness across both the public and private sectors.

I have previously served as the Head of Compliance at the SDPA, ensuring adherence to the Somalia Data Protection Act. In my current role, I focus on building global partnerships to align Somalia’s data protection framework with international best practices and standards. Beyond my role at the SDPA, I actively contribute to initiatives related to e-governance and digital public infrastructure, while strongly advocating for the integration of privacy by design principles.

I hold a BA in International Business Management from the University of West London, a CMI Diploma in Management and Leadership and I am currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in International Affairs at the University of Iceland.
